Private Instruction, JYSO Allegro Strings
Emily Schaefer began her cello studies at age 12 in her hometown of Jackson, MI. As an orchestral musician, Ms. Schaefer has performed throughout the United States and Europe, including appearances at Carnegie Hall and Verizon Hall in Philadelphia. Ms. Schaefer has held positions with the Jackson Symphony, the Battle Creek Symph ony, and the Kalamazoo Symphony, and is currently Associate Principal Cello with the West Shore Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Schaefer is active as a freelance musician throughout Michigan, and is a founding member of the Vireo String Quartet, which is based out of Kalamazoo. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in cello performance from Western Michigan University and a Master’s Degree from Mannes College of Music.
