  • December 6, 2003 - JSO Guild, 22nd Annual  "Holiday Ball", Country Club of Jackson.  The drawing for the Holiday Ball Raffle will also be held. For a follow up story after the event, click here.

  • February 1, 2004 - 12:00-5:00pm - JSO Family Music Festival & Music Fair, Jackson H.S. admission $2.50 for kids $5.00 for adults, $10 for families.  The "Farewell Symphony"  featuring Author Anna Celenza and the Jackson Symphony.  Also performing are the Jackson Youth Symphony, Jackson Chorale, Jackson H.S. Jazz Ensemble, Mojo Phoenix, Jackon Banjo Club, Witness 4, and Jackson Area Choirs.  With Mini-Concerts, Interactive Music Labs and hands-on Instrument demonstrations.  Ticket on sale at the JSO ticket office or at the door.   • February 7, 2004 - 8:00pm - "A Night in Vienna", JCC Potter Center.  JSO's subscription concert #3.  The charm and elegance of Vienna will be on stage  with the music of Beethoven, Mozart and Strauss.  Making her Midwest debut will be pianist Katrine Gislinge of Norway.  She has performed in all the major capitals of Europe and records with Deutche Grammophon.   Concert Program  Program Notes  Pre-Concert Article  Concert Review Tickets available: Call 782-3221
     

  • February 15, 2004 - 3:00pm - JSO Chamber Music Society presents Spectral Trio, JSO Orchestra Hall, 215 W. Michigan, Jackson. With Richard Sherman, flute; Jan Eberle, oboe and Kim Schmidt, piano performing the music of Mozart, Bach, Damas and Scarlatti.  Admission $10 at the JSO box office 517-782-3221 or at the door.
     

  • Febraury 20, 2004 - 7:30pm - JSO Guild  5th annual "Night of Jazz & Blues", PJ's 310 S. Mechanic St., in downtown Jackson.  Featuring  live music by Positive Energy, Dave Weatherwax & Koke McKesson, Bigfoot Bob and the Toe Tappers.  Also finger food buffet and dancing for reservations ($35 per person), contact Joan Cummings at JSO office.
     

  • Febraury 27 & 28, 2004 - It’s not too late to have melba cakes with the maestro.  As a thank you, JSO Music Director and acclaimed chef Stephen Osmond (recently seen cooking on J-TV) – along with the JSO staff and board – will treat campaign donors to a breakfast of his famous melba cakes and more.

March 2004

  • March 13, 2004 - 8:00pm - "They're Back", JCC Potter Center.  JSO's subscription concert #4.  The zany characters from Saginaw; the New Reformation Dixieland Band is back!  They've kept us laughing with their special mix of humor and toe tap'n music This will be their first appearance on our subscription series and will be an evening guaranteed to leave you smiling.   Tickets available: Call 782-3221 
     

  • March 27, 2004 - 8:00pm - Chamber Concert Series, JSO Orchestra Hall. With the chamber duo Viktor and Andrej.  This exciting violin and cello duo performs arrangements of popular Classical, Standard, Eastern European and Rock music by Kraisler, Boccherinni, Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Radiohead.  Tickets $10 adults and $5 studentsat the door or call 782-3221.

  • April 24, 2004 - 8:00pm -  Overdue - "Great Classics", JCC Potter Center.  JSO's subscription concert #5.  Great classics we haven't played for a while or ever.  Included will be music of  Brahms, Dvorak and the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto not played in Jackson for over 20 years and performed by our concertmaster,  Michael Heald.   Tickets available: Call 782-3221

  • May 13, 2004 - 11:30am-2:00pm - JSO Guild's Annual Meeting.  Social gathering of Guild members and guests.  Includes luncheon, election of new Guild board members and recognition of new board members, presentation of the Jenny Spiesberger Distinguished Service Award, guest speaker.
