Meet Our Musicians: Emily Sportsman

Emily Sportsman is proud to play violin with the Jackson Symphony. She is happily married to orchestra conductor, David Schultz. Emily started Suzuki violin training at age 4. As a senior in high school, she performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Fox Valley Youth Symphony. Emily earned degrees in violin performance and psychology at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. She studied music and German in Vienna. She is now completing a PhD in School Psychology at Michigan State University.
