"Spiritualism"

Stephen Osmond, Conductor
Jesus Alfonzo, Soloist

Program Notes

From the beginning of time, civilizations used music to express their spirituality and give structure to services. Religions were the original patrons of musicians and remained so well into the 19th century. Our program features both familiar and lesser known examples of Judeo-Christian music, including Bach's My Spirti be Joyful, Bloch's Suite Hebraique, Mendelsshon's Symphony #5 Reformation and Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Overture.
