Letter from the President

Greetings to all Jackson Symphony Guild Members for the 2010-2011 season!

The JSG has a long-standing tradition and commitment to providing exclusive assistance and support to the Jackson Symphony Orchestra.

Because of the hard work of everyone this past 2009-2010 Season, the Guild presented a check in the amount of $66,000 to the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. These funds were raised through many activities such as the Holiday Ball, Membership Dues, and Jewelry Sales.

This upcoming year we again look forward to doing our best to continue to enhance the presence of music in the community. Your volunteering, time, hard work and financial contributions will most certainly make this happen.

Currently there are 14 new Guild members, and this season our goal continues to be that of growing our membership. I encourage you to invite your family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors to a Guild event. This is an excellent way to motivate others to become involved with the JSG.

The JSO Concert Series begins on Saturday October 2, 2010, with Strange Bedfellows and will conclude on May 7, 2011, with Our Own Back Yard. This will again be an outstanding music season with many talented and well-known guest performers. I encourage you to subscribe to this series of concerts.

Our largest fundraiser, the Holiday Ball will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010. The theme is Starry, Starry Night. Please do not miss this elegant and fun event.

I look forward to building on the successes that we have had and the impressive achievements of the Guild.

Joan Boldrey, President
