Subscription Concert #3 - February 4, 2012 - LET'S DANCE
Probably the most popular classical selection of the last quarter of the 20th Century
is John Adams' Chairman Dances from his opera "Nixon in China."
The minimalist composer has created an engaging work
which is currently being presented at the Metropolitan Opera.
Beethoven's Symphony #7, referred to
by Richard Wagner as the "apotheosis of the dance,"
also will be on the program.
