During
the hour
before each symphony program all concert goers are invited to
attend Backstage Glimpses
These lively and informal discussions
feature guest artists and provide insights into the evening's
music and the composers who created it. The series host is Bruce Brown, Professor of
Music at Spring Arbor College. Asked to describe the programs,
Brown says "I try to give the audience a sense of why the
music should be considered great, but also why it is interesting:
how the composer's life experiences shaped their music, and how
much their lives and ours have in common.
The presentations begin at 7:00
p.m. on subscription concert evenings, and are held in the Federer
Rooms adjoining the entrance to the Potter Center. Refreshments
are provided.
The Backstage Glimpses series is sponsored by Comerica Bank Wealth and Institutional Management.
