The Story of Music!
Everyone loves music and everyone loves stories!
Children of all ages and their families are invited to the Family
Concert and Music Fair for a magical journey into the Story of Music.
With the lovable, exuberance of Professor Felix von Forte as host,
audiences will be transported into different worlds of music and
stories.
This annual event draws people from all over the
Jackson community for an afternoon of fun and educational musical
activities. The fair returns to Jackson High School, making full use of
its newly renovated spacious facilities.
The Jackson Youth Symphony will perform and discuss
the music in a unique concert giving audiences a rare look into the
world of music making. Music from the stories of Harry Potter, Star Wars
and old legends will be presented.
A Jackson Symphony Music Fair favorite, Gemini will
also be performing in an exciting, rousing show that will thrill
audiences, young and old!
Special! If a child comes to the event in a
Harry Potter costume, they are eligible for great prizes held in a
drawing!
n addition to the performances, participants will
have the opportunity to explore deeper into the world of stories and
music. This journey will take them through hands-on instrument
demonstrations and fun interactive music labs. The children will be able
to try out a variety of orchestral instruments with demonstrations by
the Jackson Symphony musicians. Instruments in the trial rooms will be
from the four main instrument families: Strings, Woodwinds, Brass and
Percussion.
The music labs are full of activities that teach
the fundamentals of sound and music and how they are used to tell a
story. Participants are able to make their own instruments and learn how
to tell their own stories with them. Local musicians and storytellers
round out the fun-filled afternoon.
This will be an afternoon you won’t want to miss!
Bring the entire family and receive discounts. For further ticket
information, please call 517/ 782-4133.
