Reaching out to Children
The 51st season of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra marks the beginning of a very exciting music education project. After a year of planning and testing, the JSO has implemented an after school music program for children "at-risk". The program designed for children in grades 2 through 5 offers music classes three days a week that include small and large group string instruction, music enrichment activities and workshops conducted by guest artists and our resident trio. The JSO is proud to be able to offer this program in conjunction with Jackson County Promise to Kids and the Jackson Community Foundation. Support for projects has been generously made available through Jackson County 4-H, The Camp Foundation, and our annual contributors. Many opportunities exist for volunteer or financial support. If you would like information on you might become involved with this project as a volunteer or contributor please call Mary Spring at 782-3221
