Recitals

Performance is an important part of the music learning experience. Regular recitals provide opportunities for students to perform and to hear other CMS students. The JSO/CMS expects each student to perform on at least one recital each semester. Parents with questions regarding recitals should speak directly with instructors.

The JSOCMS will provide accompanists for students participating in recitals. Accompanist fees will be charged to the student based on the performance level ($5.00 for beginners, $10.00 for intermediate, $15.00 for advanced). This fee includes one rehearsal and the performance. Recital fees are payable to the JSOCMS and may be paid at the office in advance of the performance or they will be billed and are due within one week of the performance.

Parental Commitment

We encourage you to communicate with your JSO instructors regularly and attend lessons when appropriate. A parent waiting area is located on the lower level of the JSO facility. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to contact your instructor or a member of the JSOCMS staff.
