JSOCMS PIANO CAMP
Come explore the world of music through piano study and movie themes. Our goal is to provide musical exposure and expertise to aspiring musicians of all ages while developing their theory, technique, aural awareness, critical thinking skills, and ensemble playing using movie themes.

CAMERA CREW:
Early Beginners
Ages 5-7
M W F 9-10:15 a.m.
Explore musical elements through activities organized around a movie theme. Activities include stories, singing games, listening, rhythms, note reading, and beginning piano preparatory skills. Designed for the student who is not currently in a systematic music program or who has had less than 1 year of lessons. Tuition: $120

PRODUCTION CREW:
Beginners
Grades 1-4

10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Come polish and perfect your piano skills! Reinforce basic music concepts including sight reading, rhythms, music history, listening, and theory. Play pop movie themes in a piano ensemble. Students must have completed 1-2 years of formal piano study. Tuition: $150

SERIOUS STUNTMEN:
Early Intermediates
Grades 4-7
M Tu W Th F 1:30-3:00 p.m.
Expand your enjoyment of artistry at the piano. Learn new practice skills, sight reading, theory, and rhythms through movie themes. Explore music making in a fun ensemble setting. Students must have completed 2-3 years of formal piano study. Tuition: $150

ACTORS' GUILD:
Intermediates
Grades 6-9
M Tu W Th F 3:15-4:45 p.m.
We will continue to build upon your musical foundation, reinforcing such skills as sight reading, rhythms, ear training, theory, and music history through the use of movie themes. Explore performance anxiety and learn to gain confidence while performing. Students must have completed 3-4 years of formal piano study. Tuition: $150

PRODUCERS:
Advanced Students Ensemble
Grades 8-12, Adults
M Tu Th 6:30-8:00 p.m.
This ensemble is for the serious piano student who has had 4 or more years of formal study. We will focus on ensemble works that feature 2 pianos, 4 hands or more. Students are expected to practice for rehearsals and will participate in the final ensemble recital. Come experience being a part of a piano team! Tuition: $150

Music Making:
Adult Beginners
Tu Th 12:15-1:15 p.m.
OR M W 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Learn to play the piano in a relaxed atmosphere while having fun music making. Class is for beginners or those who have forgotten how to play. No experience necessary. Two sessions of this course will be offered. *A $25 book fee is to be paid to the instructor. Tuition: $40*

Introductory Jazz Piano:
Intermediate Students
Tu Th 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Interested in jazz piano? Learn basic jazz piano skills that include jazz rhythms, scales, 7th chords, and basic improvisation. Students must have had 4 or more years of formal piano study. *A $25 book fee is to be paid to the instructor. Tuition: $40*

SUMMER STRINGS AND SUMMER STRING TEAM

Summer Strings

SUMMER STRING TEAM
Mondays and Thursdays, Times TBD
The String Team is designed for beginning students who have no prior experience with a string instrument. Students will learn the fundamental techniques of playing a string instrument. The class meets twice a week for a period of six weeks. Tuition: $120

CADET CLASS
9:00-10:00 AM Instrumental Session
10:00-10:30 AM Music Theory Session
The Cadet class is designed for students who have studied a string instrument for less than one year. This class focuses on the reinforcement and expansion of fundamental techniques. This class also includes a Music Theory component, which focuses on the establishment of fundamental musical knowledge and music reading skills. Tuition: $150

ALLEGRETTO CLASS
9:30-10:00 AM Music Theory Session
10:00-11:00 AM Instrumental Session
The Allegretto class is designed for intermediate students who have studied their string instrument privately for more than one year. This class focuses on the reinforcement of fundamental techniques and an introduction to more advanced techniques. This class also includes a Music Theory component, focusing on the advancement of musical knowledge and music reading skills. Tuition: $150

VIVACE CLASS
9:00-10:30 AM Instrumental Session I
10:30-11:15 AM Music Theory Session
11:15 AM - 12:00 PM Lunch Break
12:00-1:30 p.m. Instrumental Session II
The Vivace class is designed for advanced students. Students will receive instruction in the performance of appropriate literature for chamber ensemble (trios, quartets, etc.) and string ensemble. This class also includes a Music Theory component, focusing on advanced musical knowledge and music reading skills which are appropriate for this level of student. Tuition: $250

Saturday 12p.m.-12:45p.m. Ages 3-5

**Both sessions are 5 weeks in duration.**

**Fees for 5 week sessions are $60 per student.**

**Parental participation is required.**
