Jasper Zientek

Jasper Zientek, a Michigan native, joined the Jackson Symphony Orchestra in 2018. Zientek studied with Atar Arad and Steve Wyrczynski at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as well as with Vicky Chiang at Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute. During his schooling he attended many summer festivals nationally and internationally including National Orchestral Institute (MD,USA) , Casalmaggiore Music Festival (Italy), Summer Academy Leutkirch (Germany), and attended Aspen Summer Music Festival (CO,USA) as a New Horizon Fellow.

Stefan Koch

Stefan Koch is a member of the Jackson Symphony and the Lansing Symphony. In a previous life, he held positions as a national buyer of both books and CDs for Borders Books and Music, and he also has a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Michigan. Stefan also regularly performs with other orchestras in the area, including the Kalamazoo Symphony, West Michigan Symphony, Toledo Symphony, Detroit Opera, and Grand Rapids Symphony. Since 2007 to 2012 he spent his summers at the Utah Festival Opera in Logan, Utah, where he was Principal Cellist. In 2025 he became the Principal Cellist of Opera in the Ozarks. In 2012 Stefan undertook a series of recitals which were the first US performances of the Cello and Piano Music of the exiled Jewish Viennese composer Richard Stöhr. A CD of this music, with pianist Robert Conway, was released in August 2014 on the Toccata Classics label (London, UK). In 2018 and 2020, he released two other CDs of chamber music by the same composer on the same label, with another CD due out later this year.

Daniel Winnick

Daniel Winnick moved to Michigan from New Jersey in 2005, and since then he has built a varied and busy career as a freelance musician in Metro Detroit and beyond. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he studied with Andrew Jennings. Since 2020, Daniel has served as co-concertmaster of the Michigan Philharmonic, which is based in Plymouth. He also performs with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, Flint Symphony Orchestra, Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra, Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, and ÆPEX Contemporary Ensemble.

Phoebe Gelzer-Govatos

Phoebe Gelzer-Govatos, violinist, performs with a number of orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout Michigan, including the Ann Arbor, Jackson, Lansing, and Kalamazoo symphony orchestras, and presently holds the position of principal second violin in the Adrian Symphony. In addition, she specializes in the historically-informed performance of 17th and 18th century music, playing with early music groups across the country and coaching high school and college students in baroque style and technique. Phoebe resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she maintains a private violin studio, coaches chamber music at the Rudolf Steiner High School, and likes to involve herself in creative endeavors of all kinds.
