JSO Presents: An Inclusive Musical Experience

The Jackson Symphony Orchestra invites community members of all ages to experience live music in a welcoming and inclusive environment at its annual Sensory-Friendly Chamber Concert on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Weatherwax Hall (215 W Michigan Ave).

Designed for individuals with sensory sensitivities, including neurodiverse audiences and those with communication, movement, and learning needs, the free concert offers a flexible and supportive way to experience live music. Admission is free, but reservations are required. RSVP at jacksonsymphony.org/concerts-and-events/sensory-friendly-chamber-concert-2026.

This year’s performance will feature a string trio, giving audience members the opportunity to experience the sounds of string instruments in an intimate chamber setting. Throughout the performance, audience members are encouraged to experience the music in whatever way is most comfortable for them. Scarves will be available to move along with the music, while maracas offer an opportunity to engage with its rhythms. Guests are welcome to move, stand, or remain seated during the performance.

To help create an accessible and comfortable environment, Weatherwax Hall will offer a variety of accommodations, including accessible seating, quiet rooms, medium quiet rooms, standing room, additional viewing areas, earplugs, headphones, fidgets, scarves, and maracas.

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of Macchia Family Foundation and Mid-Michigan Autism Association.
