The Jackson Symphony Orchestra is excited to announce “Soulful Saturday with the Harlem Gospel Travelers,” an electrifying concert event that will transport audiences through the vibrant gospel sounds of the ’50s and ’60s with a contemporary twist.
On Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 8:00 PM, prepare to be moved as the Harlem Gospel Travelers grace the stage at Weatherwax Hall. Rooted in the gospel tradition of the past, this dynamic ensemble brings a modern edge to their sound, infusing it with boldness, resilience, and a renewed energy that captivates audiences.
The Harlem Gospel Travelers’ music is filled with soulful melodies and powerful vocal arrangements that pay homage to the golden era of gospel. Their explosive performances are punctuated with gritty bursts of guitar and crunchy rhythm breaks, creating a fusion of timeless traditions and contemporary sensibilities.

The event will take place at Weatherwax Hall, a venue known for its exceptional acoustics and intimate ambiance, which allows the audience to fully immerse themselves in the uplifting power of the Harlem Gospel Travelers’ music. A cash bar will also be available so attendees can enjoy their favorite wine, beer, seltzer, or soft drink during the performance.
