JSO’s Free Summer Pops Performances in Jackson and Albion
The Jackson Symphony Orchestra is excited to announce its annual Summer Pops concert, this year featuring an additional performance in Albion in honor of America 250. The first concert will take place on Friday, August 28 at 7pm at Horace Blackman Park in downtown Jackson, followed by a second free performance on Sunday, August 30 at 6pm at the Victory Park Bandshell in Albion.
This year’s patriotic program pays tribute to America and its enduring strength through a stirring selection of marches and iconic orchestral works. Concertgoers are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of live music under the summer sky as the Jackson Symphony Orchestra joins communities in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
Led by Music Director Matthew Aubin, the orchestra will once again perform alongside the DDA Cruise-In event in Jackson, creating a festive atmosphere with classic cars, food trucks, and the downtown social district all within walking distance of the concert.
For those looking to enhance their evening, VIP tickets are available for the Jackson performance only at $30 for adults and $15 for students. VIP tickets include access to a pre-concert reception at 6:00 pm in Weatherwax Hall, featuring live piano music by Mark Loring, hors d’oeuvres, and a selection of beer, wine, and soft drinks. VIP guests will also enjoy reserved seating in the park and access to the JSO’s indoor restrooms during the event.
The rain location is Weatherwax Hall (215 W Michigan Ave). VIP ticket holders will have guaranteed seating. Additional seating for the public will be available on a first-come, first-served basis as capacity allows.
