Jackson Community Music School Registration for Fall Semester Open

The Jackson Symphony Orchestra Community Music School (CMS) is now accepting registrations for the fall semester, which begins August 24, with a variety of music education opportunities for students of all ages and experience levels.

CMS offers private lessons, group classes and ensembles for students ranging from young children discovering music for the first time to experienced musicians looking to continue developing their skills. Fall offerings include early childhood classes, piano, guitar, youth choirs, string programs, and the Jackson Youth Symphony Orchestra. JYSO students participate in two concerts throughout the year, as well as a side-by-side performance with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra during one of its Classical Concerts.

Private lessons are available in a wide variety of instruments, including strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, piano, voice, guitar, and mandolin. Students can sign up for private lessons at any point during the year, with lesson options designed to accommodate different ages, experience levels, and schedules.

Beyond weekly instruction, CMS students have opportunities to perform in recitals and throughout the community. Merit-based scholarships and financial assistance are also available, helping make music education accessible to more families. CMS students also receive free tickets to Jackson Symphony Orchestra Classical Concerts, with discounted tickets available for family members.

Whether students are picking up an instrument for the first time, looking for a creative activity, or ready to take their musical skills to the next level, the Community Music School provides a welcoming environment to learn, perform, and connect with others through music.
