The Jackson Symphony Orchestra announces HORN II auditions for the 2018-19 season. The winning candidate will be offered a contract effective immediately. Based on these auditions, we may also add musicians to our supplemental horn list. Should a current JSO musician win this audition, we may offer the runner-up their open chair.

Deposit

In order to receive an audition time, please submit a $40 deposit to the address above, ℅ “David Lamse, JSO Personnel Manager.” This will be returned to you upon your arrival for your audition. Personal checks should be made out to “Jackson Symphony Orchestra.”

Please USPS or e-mail a cover letter and one-page resume to JSO Personnel Manager, David Lamse, at the address above or submit documents through jacksonsymphonypm@gmail.com.

2017-18 JSO pay-scale was $53/service (section) with $25/travel allowance per round trip from E. Lansing and Ann Arbor. A typical JSO season includes 5 mainstage programs, one educational concert, several pops concerts, and many additional opportunities for outside performance and outreach.

The audition committee of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra reserves the right to immediately dismiss any candidate that does not meet the highest professional standards at these auditions.
